The Lowndes County School District has decided it is in the best interest for our students and staff to cancel school on Monday and Tuesday in order to gather more information and seek guidance moving forward concerning COVID-19. I genuinely hope we look back on this decision as an overreaction. The main issue driving this decision is that so many of our students and staff traveled over the break. We feel these two days will help us relay the best information of who could possibly be at risk of infection and who needs to remain home and for how long. There is so much unknown concerning the United States and COVID-19, but the virus is having devasting effects on many countries around the world. We want to do everything we can to prevent that type of outbreak. Please be patient with us as we gather information and make the best decisions for our community moving forward.
